Easy V/GF Valentine's Day Dessert

Valentine's day is right around the corner, checkout this easy and fun dessert to make for yourself or your loved ones.

What you'll need

  1. Mini heart shaped baking dishes

  2. Your favorite v/gf brownie recipe

  3. An easy buttercream recipe

  4. Food dye

  5. Piping bags + tips

  6. Sprinkles (optional)

I found my heart shaped dishes at my local dollar store. I have also seen them in more popular stores such as Michaels or Walmart. If you don't have these pans, don't worry! You can still use any shape of pan you would like.

I recently tested out a new brownie recipe from another blog, Jessica in the Kitchen, and loved it! That's the brownie recipe that I used for this video. For this particular baking project, you can substitute any brownie recipe you'd like.

Piping Tips

Red - 1M

White - 32 and 125

Pink - 2D

Feel free to switch these up and use whichever tips you'd like. This dessert is all about having fun and getting creative!

Be careful when picking out your sprinkles, as most contain shellac which is not vegan. I used this adorable new Valentine's sprinkle medley that we got in at the bakery. We carry lot's of varieties of sprinkles which are all certified vegan and gluten-free.

How to Make Your Heart-Shaped Desserts

  • Start out by making your favorite brownie recipe, and pour the batter into your heart-shaped baking dishes. While your brownies are baking, get to work on making your buttercream and adding your dyes. You can choose whichever colors you'd like, and as many as you'd like. I used three different colors for my design, white, pink, and red.

  • Now that you have your different colored buttercreams, place your icing into your various piping bags. See above for which tips I used.

  • Once you have your brownies baked and cooled, it's time to decorate! All in all, this dessert took me 1 hour to make including baking and cooling time.

There you have it! A cute and easy dessert idea to try out this Valentine's Day.
